Arteastiq

Second post of the day! =)

We later went to Arteastiq for tea break to try their tea set for two. The tea set wasn't really fantastic, but a great place to sit down to have a chat. As the name states, this place is pretty artistic, with different decors for different tables and chairs. As well for the wall art. What's more, they actually have an art-room right beside their eatery under their name for people to paint and draw! The table we sat at was really small though. I had the French Rose tea, really light and delectable. Whereas my mother had the Earl Gray tea with lavender, a stronger tasting tea. I really preferred my own light tasting tea =P

The wraps were pretty good, but they were pretty normal. We had the chicken wraps. The set also contained smoked Salmon, some tuna biscuits - these were really nice. It also came with top shell salad. To my surprise, I found the salad really tasty. I am someone who doesn't really fancy seafood nor shell foods, but this was really good. The cold cut meat was common, but the apple cake was good. It is so soft and not as heavy as we thought.

I would be coming back for the tea and maybe the orange cake. I really want to try their alcohol tea =) Really such a heavy day, ate lots. Really got to exercise more!

Wild Honey

Hey ~

Today I'm going to post two times, so that the pictures will not overload =) Today I went to Wild Honey together with my mother and we only had to wait like 23 minutes, thankfully. I'll have to say that is it a really neat place with good breakfast meals, and really filling. Well, at least for the foods that we ordered, we had even skipped lunch =) We ate Tunisian and European - both recommended by the ?Manager / Boss? My mother had a cappuccino, and a Hazelnut latte for myself, plus a huge glass of Orange juice to share.

[ Tunisian - $19.00 ]
Tunisian: This is a spicy dish, It isn't totally spicy to the point you require drinking water, but spicy enough to tickle your tongue. A really nice dish served in a pan with the bread and vegetable served on the side. The bread was to be used for dipping into the sauce. The egg in this dish, I'll have to say was really , really good. The way it was cooked just right - not too soft, and not too hard. The sausages were thinly sliced.

[ European - $19.00 ]
European: This is the Wild Honey's version of 'Eggs Benedict', and it is really good. The egg yolk just flows out smoothly after cutting it and the bacon is not too soft nor too crispy. As for the mushroom, it was fantastic. It is so savoury, a definite must-try for mushroom lovers! If you aren't so much of an 'Eggs Benedict' or soft-boiled egg fan, then you'll have to give this dish a miss. But really a two thumbs up for this dish =)

The Decoration here is really more of a cross-culture. The tables and chairs provided were of different styles, making the place seem like a lovely English house. But the art hung up on the walls were of a little modern feeling. But I'll have to say that is was a really cosy place that is really just right for people to have breakfast there and have a nice little chat over coffee.

And finally, the service there is great, everyone is so warm and pleasant that you'll just have to put a smile on your face. And the ?Manager/Boss? is really friendly, going round to talk to people. And even whilst waiting outside for your seats, you can be sure that you won't be bored, because the staff would actually bring out little foods for tasting and to keep you happily waiting.

Cooking Class

Hi hi!

Haven't written here for such a long time, have been really busy with many stuff =) But today, Penguin came over to my place, ate dinner and made supper for Penguin's family!! It was so much fun cooking with Penguin =) And it was pretty good too, especially for a first timer =D We didn't follow the measurements much but went with the flow and it came up decent.

We made Omu-rice ( Japanese Style ), where the rice was inside the omelet and mixed with vegetable and tomato and a few other ingredients. Then he also made toast with ham and cheese, the melted cheese looks so darn good, I was about to steal a bit from it, but a Penguin's eye was on me! 0_0

Well anyway, I hope Penguin's family enjoys it because a lot of effort has been put into making it =) I have no pictures to show of the Bento because I forgot to snap a shot. But I do so hope to have such a fun experience again =)

Alright, got to go and prepare for tomorrow!

Ciao ~Andrea =)

Sunday Tea - Antoinette

Hi, I went to Antoinette again to buy cakes home for tea =)  This time I finally got the earl grey tea cake - " Antoinette ", and " Saint Honore L'Amour ".  As usual, their cakes did not disappoint me.

[ Antoinette ]
Antoinette - This is such a cute cake.  The earl grey tea taste infused within the chocolate and the moist sponge cake within is very prominent and makes the cake very fresh tasting.  It's jelly like chocolate exterior covers the entire cake, whilst the moist sponge layers inside is mixed with crispy chocolate crusts.  On the top, the strawberry encased within the reddish blob is as sweet as strawberry jam.  One has to break the gelatine-like cover to get to the jam inside.  The only disappointment I ave to say is that I could not find any clean and conventional way to merge the strawberry jam from the top with the light tea cake beneath it. But in all, ' Antoinette ' is a wonderful cake experience that is both heavenly and sweet.  It is sold at S$9.00

[ Saint Honore L'Amour ]
Saint Honore L'Amour - A really pleasant looking cake with a wonderful presentation of this little pastry.  The raspberry flavour is really strong.  The little puffs found at the sides are really soft and tasty, one can barely taste the buttery-ness like some puffs have.  The creams is soft and smooth, it practically disappears after placing it in your mouth, melting away.  The biscuit at the bottom is light and crispy, and still retains the light buttery taste which complements the berry bits just directly above it.  Another really light and refreshing cake, after eating this, I felt I could a lot more cakes to follow.  This is sold at S$8.50
